All of you inspire and motivate me to keep blogging blogging blogging, and to try more delicious places. I’ve been lurking on your blogs for the last year or so, and your fantastic posts and photos had me salivating and blogging to no end!

Chocolate Degustation

 

Because it’s new years, instead of reviewing a restaurant, I’m going to review some American Chocolate instead. K recently came back from America, and he brought back what he dubbed to be a Chocolate Degustation. Now, if you’re like me, your experience of American chocolate probably extends no further than Reece’s peanut butter cups, and possibly a peanut butter M&M or two. So I was super duper excited to try out all these new and foreign sweets.

Hershey’s Original – we found this one to be like Cadbury dairy milk, but a tad nuttier, and possibly just a bit less good in terms of quality.

Hershey’s Cookies and Cream –as K put it, this was essentially crunchy white chocolate. It’s good for the white chocolate fans, though we did discern a funny plasticky note to it.

Hershey’s Special Dark – this was, once again not too different from its Cadbury counterpart. It wasn’t too bitter, but I felt it was a bit too sweet and not quite creamy enough. Give me Lindt dark any day.

Hershey’s Milk Chocolate with Almonds – I like this one. The chocolate is creamier than the original, and it had whole crispy roasted almonds studded throughout the bar.

Butterfinger – I was actually really surprised when I bit into this one. The center was almost exactly the same as those crumbly peanut lollies you get at Asian grocers, except this one is covered in chocolate and not candy.

Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups – like the name suggests, this is literally a small chocolate ‘cup’ filled with peanut butter. If you haven’t tried it before, yes it is as delicious as it sounds, go get some now.

Peanut Butter M&Ms (not pictured) – after eating the peanut butter cups, I found that I could barely taste the peanut butter in these in comparison, especially not over the M&M candy coating, But having another couple a bit later, I actually found that these also tasted fairly strongly of peanut butter. Probably good for the people who aren’t as crazy about the chocolate-peanut butter combination as others.
