Melbourne, VIC 3000
This Friday night’s dinner was a simple affair, some curry at Classic Curry Company to warm the tummy from the cold
weather.
The interior may be Spartan, but it’s full of delicious
smells and smiling staff.
Butter Chicken ($10) |
Chris’ Butter
Chicken ($10) is smooth and sweet, without too much acidity from the
tomatoes to meddle in affairs. Chicken chunks are brilliantly tender and
slightly charred at the edges. A bit too sweet for my liking but still comfort
food at its finest.
Mild Fish Curry ($10) |
My Fish Curry
($10) had a gravy that’s very similar to the butter chicken, leaving me a
little bit disappointed. But the big chunks of fish fillets were surprisingly
well marinated with a deep smoky taste to it, even if it is a bit on the salty
side. I swapped my rice for a serve of pillowy soft Naan ($1). At a dollar a pop, it won’t hurt to overindulge.
Rating:
12/20 – comfort food

Oreo Cheesecake ($5.9) |
Then we sauntered off to Secret Recipe to pamper ourselves with a slice of velvety Oreo Cheesecake ($5.9)
We spent the last part of our night watching the city lights
from the indoor garden at Melbourne Central.
Beautiful bokeh and a slightly green but very cuddly
boyfriend
